Frequently asked questions about my training program

Can you describe your training routine you have your athletes do?

I do not use a cookie-cutter training routine for my athletes.  Instead, I adjust the training week by week depending on how my athletes perform during training the prior 1-2 weeks.  My workouts are usually full body- i.e. I generally have lots of different exercises so there are no weaknesses.    This is the best way to ensure long-term progress.  For instance, I encourage a lot of abdominal, forearm, and bicep training, which is something uncommon in most powerlifting programs, but it can really get you ahead of the game because they are most often neglected.

How time consuming is your training program?

I will adapt my training program to your lifestyle.  You can still make long-term progress with at least one 1-2 hour session every other week.  Most of my athletes train two to three times per week.

Is your training program difficult?

Since I believe one of the major keys to long-term progress in powerlifting is staying injury-free, I tend to avoid overtraining as much as possible.  I also usually encourage lots of recovery time between sessions.  For this reason I think the program is easier than most to get through, but of course sometimes I will ask you to push yourself if you want to improve.
